Custom Patches & Labels

Embroidered, woven, chenille, PVC and leather - made here, and sewn onto the garments we make for you.

A patch is often the cheapest way to make a garment look like a brand rather than a blank. It is also the part most likely to arrive wrong, because it is usually ordered from a different supplier than the garment - so the colour is close but not right, or the size suits the sample and not the production fit.

Detail

Custom Patches & Labels at FABRIOZA

Types we make

  • Embroidered - the standard. Merrow or hot-cut border, up to full coverage
  • Woven - finer detail than embroidery and better for small text, which is why labels are woven
  • Chenille - the raised looped pile used on varsity jackets and leavers wear
  • PVC and rubber - moulded, weatherproof, good for outerwear and bags
  • Leather - debossed or embossed, for premium and heritage ranges

Backings and finishes

  • Sew-on, the most durable, and what we use when we attach them ourselves
  • Iron-on heat seal, for patches you will apply later
  • Hook-and-loop, for uniforms and workwear where patches change
  • Adhesive, for short-term and promotional use
  • Laser-cut or merrow-edge finishing depending on the shape

Labels and tags, from the same artwork

  • Woven neck labels, satin and damask
  • Printed care and composition labels, which the UK and most markets require by law
  • Hang tags and swing tickets
  • Size tabs, sleeve tabs and hem flags

Included with production. When you place a garment order with us, this work is included for that artwork. If you only want the files, we quote it separately and confirm the price in writing before we start.

Materials

The five types, side by side

Illustrative renders of each material, not photographs of client work. They are here because the difference between chenille and woven is impossible to describe in a sentence and obvious in a picture.

Illustrative render of a embroidered patch

Embroidered

Satin stitch with a merrow or hot-cut border. The standard, and the most durable.

Illustrative render of a woven patch

Woven

A fine flat weave. Holds much smaller detail than thread, which is why labels are woven.

Illustrative render of a chenille patch

Chenille

Looped pile on a felt base with a chain-stitch edge. Varsity and leavers wear.

Illustrative render of a pvc / rubber patch

PVC / rubber

Moulded and weatherproof, with raised relief. Outerwear, bags and workwear.

Illustrative render of a leather patch

Leather

Debossed or embossed with a stitched edge. Premium and heritage ranges.

Questions

Frequently asked

What patch types can you actually make?

Embroidered, woven, chenille, PVC and rubber, and leather. Plus woven and printed labels, hang tags and size tabs.

Can you attach the patches to the garments?

Yes - that is the point of ordering both here. They are sewn on during production, so the placement is consistent across the run.

Which is better for small text, embroidered or woven?

Woven. Thread has a minimum practical size and small embroidered text closes up. Woven holds much finer detail, which is why neck labels are woven.

What is the minimum order for patches?

Patch minimums depend on the type and whether they are made alongside a garment order. Ask and we will confirm in writing with the quote.

Do I need a separate digitized file for a patch?

Yes, and it differs from a garment file - the border, backing and stabiliser all change the programming. We make both from the same artwork.
